West Kingdom Twelfth Night Coronation
Winter Coronation and celebration of Twelth Night will take place at the Doubletree, Sacramento; near Arden Fair. Join us for the stepping down of King Titus and Queen Arianwen and the Coronatoin of their Royal Highnesses Jade and Catherine. The staff for this event is working on wonderful activities (that won't happen in Court) and that will keep you busy from Friday afternoon to mid-day on Sunday - along with the usual shopping and meetings of various groups. There will be movies, bardic circles, dancing, fighter practices, and more - as well as the return of the Duchesses' Ball and the Casbah! If there is something you have always wanted to see happen at Twelfth Night, now is the time to volunteer. If you need space to hold a meeting, contact the Autocrat as soon as possible. Priority will be given to recognized Kingdom Offices and Guilds. Food Plan: This year we are trying an experiment - a food plan catered by the Hotel. the cost for the food plan is $79, and it is available only through pre-payment through the ACCEPS system. All meals are buffet-style and will be available during two-hour windows. The plan includes Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, Saturday lunch and Satruday dinner. (Breakfast includes: Orange and assorted juices, Mini-croissants, assorted danish, blueberry muffins, sweet cream butter and preserves, seasonal fruits, coffee, decaf coffee and tea. Lunch includes: Salad and dressing, marinated three bean salad, red potatoe salad, albacore tuna salad, sliced fruit medley, roast beef, ham smoked turkey and salami, swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, jack cheese and provolone cheese, tomatoes, red onion, avacado, sprouts, lettuce, Kosher dill pickels, pepperonchinis, kalamata olives and wax peppers, french rolls, baguettes and sliced breads, beverages. Dinner includes: Assorted greens with dressings, pesto pasta salad, fruit salad, vegetables, rice pilaf, chicken dijon, Tri-tip, breads and butter, desserts, coffee, decaf coffee and tea.)
Site Fee & Tickets: $15 for adult members, $10 for those age 13-17. Those under 12 are free. Family rates (for two adults and 2+ children of $45 are available. Tickets are available throught ACCEPS, by mail (send checks payable to "SCA, Inc. - Kingdom of the West" and a SASE (self-addressed-stamped-envelope) to Reservations (see below), at events, and at the door. There is a $5 non-member surcharge for adults, that MUST be paid at the gate. There is no pre-event discount this year, in line with the new Kingdom Event pricing policy.
Hotel: Sacramento Doubletree, 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento, CA. The negotiated room rate is $85/night and inclludes parking fee. The reservation code is KOW. Parking is complimentary for all attending Twelfth Night, whether or not your are staying at the hotel.
Parking Instructions: For guests staying at the Hotel - pull a ticket to get into the parking lot. Then go t othe front dest and check in. the front dest will give you a ticket thta is valid the entire time and will allow in and out ability. You can then discard the original ticket. The ticket you get from the desk will be used when you leave and to get back in. For daytrip guests - pull a ticket to get into the lot. A validation machine will be at the gate. You must validate your ticket to get free parking. Repeat if you leave and return.
Directions: From I-5 North: Take I-5 to Hwy 50. Take Hwy 50 east to Business 80/Capital City Fwy east. Exit at Arden Way east, keep to the right. Take the first right at Point West Way. From I-5 South: Take the Garden Hwy exit, turning onto Garden Hwy. Continue on Gardent Hwy, which turns into Garden-Arden Expressway. Continue on Garden-Arden as it turns into Arden Way. Follow Arden Way, going under Business 80. turn right, onto Point West Way, and right again into the Hotel parking lot. From HWY 99: Keep to the left when approaching Sacramento. Hwy 99 merges onto Business 80/Capital City Fwy. Tak the Arden Way exit East (or keep right). Turn onto Point West Way. From Hwy 50: Take the Business 80/Capital City Fwy. Exit at Arden Way (east) and keep to the right. Take the first right onto Point West Way, and right again into the Hotel parking lot.
