Newcomers & Warlord Tournament

Saturday June 10th, 2017
Cupertino, California

The Province of Southern Shores presents our annual Newcomers & Warlord Tournaments. Whether you're new to the SCA or have been in for years, Newcomers is an event you don’t want to miss! We will have arts and sciences demos, socializing, and, of course, fighting!

The Newcomers Tournament is open to heavy fighters who have been fighting 2 years or less, and will take place in the morning. There will be one tournament for fighters who have been fighting a year or less and then a tournament for those fighting two years or less. Prizes will be given to the Champions!

The Warlord Tournament is open to any heavy fighters, and will take place in the afternoon. The Champion will receive the title of Warlord of Southern Shores along with some spiffy regalia and a prize!

In addition to the heavy fighting tournaments, we will also have a prize tournament for rapier fighters! This tournament is open to rapier fighters of any experience level, and a prize will be awarded to the Champion.

While the fighting is happening, we will also have demos of a variety of arts and sciences. If you’d rather just come and spend some time with friends, that’s perfectly fine, too! We’ll have the Southern Shores sunshade set up and a Bake Sale in case you want some tasty nibbles.

The BEST thing about Newcomers? It’s FREE! That’s right, no site fee (but donations are welcome)! So, if you have friends who want to know what the SCA is all about-- bring them! If you just want to spend a day in the park with friends-- bring yourself! Hope to see you there!
