Selviergard 15th Anniversary

Join Selviergard at our 15th Anniversary. There are activities for all to enjoy. We are on a farmstead in Talkeetna: open fields, camping and central fire pit with benches. The site has parking and space for campers.

There are heavy and rapier tournaments, archery, thrown weapons and siege weapons displays and competition. The site has a long-range facility for shooting at long range targets. Siege weapons will compete in several classes of weapons:  full scale (SCA legal), small (2’-3’) and table top. There will be Dragon Feet races, Rock, Kube, etc. The tournaments are based on The Book of Five Rings.

Heavy and Rapier: Tournament of the Five Rings:  Earth — Polearms & great weapons; Water — Florentine; Fire — Bear-pit; Wind — Offhand single sword; Void — Single sword, blindfolded.
Thrown Weapons:  bullseye, hawk block, cut the string, Big to small
Archery:  IKAC, Royal Rounds, novelty targets, Strip the Willow, running boar
Siege Weapons:  Demonstration, distance, accuracy challenges, 1st Oerthan Siege Weapons Champion

Arts & Sciences:  Dutch oven cooking:  meats, desserts; making butter, camp furniture
Kids Activities:  Dragon Feet, Kube, bull roar making, candle making, fire starters, flint-n-steel use (race)
Bardic: at the Firepit nightly.
A History of Selviergard tent will be there to celebrate the past.

Merchants are welcome. Please send details of your shop.

Site is remote: services 6 miles away: grocery store, medical clinic, gas station.
Firewood and privvies available.
Water onsite from a stream that is tested annually OR bring your own.
Ground fires OK; must be filled in after use.
ALERT: bears and moose in the area.
NO electricity on site.
Cell service: sporadic on site, works down the road.

Directions: Parks Highway to the Talkeetna Spur Road. Go 3 miles and turn RIGHT on Yoder Road. Follow Yoder for 3.25 miles. Site is on the RIGHT. Follow the signs.
