Further Event Information: 

The Shire of Pavlok Gorod cordially invites you to our twentieth annual Newcomers Event! This year’s theme is a hero’s journey. Rapier: there will be a rapier tournament. Armor inspection will be at 9AM. Fighting begins at 10 AM. 

Feast: Feast is potluck. Please bring ingredients list. Puddle Pirate Cove Household will bring the main course. Modern last names beginning A-L please bring your favorite Medieval/Renaissance side dish to share. Modern last names beginning M-Z please bring your favorite Medieval/Renaissance dessert to share. PLEASE NOTE: NO ORANGES or SHELLFISH on site due to severe allergies. If you have allergies, please let the event steward know immediately! 

Arts and Sciences display: Whatever you are working on in any mode. Your display piece can be complete or a work in progress. 

Arts and Sciences Competition: Your SCA hero in any mode. Classes: Oerthan Bingo Fun and Games Historical games. Bardic.

Silent Auction: There will be a silent auction to support future events in Pavlok Gorod. Donations for the silent auction will joyfully be accepted. 

There will be a post-event potluck bbq to be held off site. 

Lodging for off-island cousins: Limited lodging, local transportation, and hospitality will be joyfully provided to off island guests in the homes of our populace. Please contact the seneschal at mairghread@westkingdom.org as soon as possible with your travel plans.

Written Directions to Site:    From the Benny Benson Kodiak State Airport turn right onto Rezanof Dr. for 5.8 miles. Turn slightly left onto Lower Mill Bay Rd. at the Y intersection for 350 feet. Turn left onto Thorsheim St. for .3 miles. The destination will be on the left at the corner of Thorsheim and Oak.

Site Accessibility:   Wheelchair Accessible, Electrical Outlets, Sidewalks, Close / Handicap Parking, Cell Phone Reception

Terrain Description:   This is an indoor site. The upper parking lot is paved, has handicap parking, and a wheelchair ramp. The lower parking lot is gravel with a long flight of stairs. There are paved sidewalks at both parking lots.

Bodies of Water on/near Site:   There are no immediate bodies of water near the site.

Insects or wild animals to be aware of on/ near site:   Kodiak Brown bears do frequently wander the area and occasionally the site. This is usually during the early morning or late evening hours but not always. Use precaution when leaving vehicles or buildings and make noise. Mosquitos, bees, hornets, and wasps may be out. If driving on Kodiak roads, deer and bears are always road hazards, especially in low visibility. Drive with caution. Though not an animal- Kodiak Island weather and temperature are unpredictable and change quickly. Be prepared to dress for the weather. Drive with headlights on at all times.

Amenities on Site:   Stone Privies, Potable Water, Shopping near by, Modern Lighting: Such as, Street/ Walkway lights, Picnic Areas/ Tables,  Due to severe allergies, please do not bring pets on site. The building is surrounded by residential homes. Please be considerate of the neighbors.
