Further Event Information:    Their Royal Majesties invite you to attend and participate in the crown tournament of succession! We are in the early stages, they haven’t even stepped up yet! As we develop the shenanigans, errr… plan, we will update all. Please contact the event steward to get more information.

“Greetings to Our beloved West kingdom

As We celebrate with all of you Our ascension to the Occidentalis Thronus, We must keep in mind that life can be short and that We must take steps to ensure the safety and well being of Our Populace by finding right and proper Heirs through combat on the List Field. Prepare your harness, sharpen your swords and axes, and paint your shields bright. We ask that all who have banners or field decorations bring them forth and help bring color and joy to the List Field. Let us all fill the field with displays of your heraldry and personal colors as We witness the determination of Our Heirs.

We wish to let it be known the following information regarding a mighty tournament to determine Our Heirs.

Our Tournament will be held under the standard rules of the List as laid out in West Kingdom and Society Law. It will be a standard double elimination tournament using weapons of choice for all rounds. Armor will follow Standard Western customs. We wish to have it known that first and second rounds of the Tournament will be done as best 2 out of 3 for all fights in those rounds.

We are asking all non-Western entrants who wish to compete in the tournament to submit (email crown@westkingdom.org) a simple letter of intent stating their desire to compete in Our List and agreeing to the following considerations:

1. Your consort is a Western citizen

2. Your acknowledgement that you will attend any and all Western events that you are reasonably able to beyond the three required for “completion of the reign” and that you are prepared for any financial burden that may be incurred in order to accomplish this

3. Your acknowledgement that from the date of this announcement forward until Western Crown Tournament, you WILL NOT compete in your home Kingdom’s Crown Tournament nor for 3 months following this Western Crown Tournament. This requirement is designed to reinforce the ideal that the Western Crown, while being open to most who wish to compete, is NOT a bragging right nor resume accomplishment. It is a serious endeavor and responsibility and must be treated as such.

We look forward to seeing the pageantry, joy, honor, and prowess of all who wish to compete for the Throne of the West.

NOTE: This is an active ranch and has a river running through it. There will be livestock and we are close to moving water.

Take your best route to Highway 99 heading to Elk Grove. If heading North, exit right onto Grant Line Road heading East. If heading South, exist Kamerrer/Grant Line and turn left onto Grant Line Road heading East.

Once on Grant Line Road (in Elk Grove) heading east, drive for approximately 1 mile. Look for a large warehouse building that is painted in rectangles of teal, white and 2 shades of grey. Go just past the building and turn into what appears to be the parking lot, look for the SCA signs starting here. Stay to the left and transition to the gravel road that continues beyond, you will be heading South at this point.

You will continue on this gravel road for approximately 1 mile, follow the next SCA sign to the field the event is being held in. Continue another 1/2 mile to the event site.

Terrain Description:   It is a working ranch and we are on a cattle grazing field. The are ditches running around the edge of the field, be very careful driving.
