DESCRIPTION:Event Steward SCA Name:   Nathaniel of the Mists \nCo-Event Steward: Krzysztof Zatorski \nFeast Stewards / Head Cooks: Ghislaine Triest and Edmond of Surrey \nEvent Steward contacts:    nat.lewis@gmail.com \n \nEvent Name:   Beaconsgate Boar Hunt 2025 \nEvent Site Open:   Dec 13\, 9am \nEvent Site Close:   Dec 13\, 9pm \n \nFurther Event Information:    Winter is coming\, so it’s time for the Annual Beconsgate Boar Hunt and Feast sponsored by the Province of the Mists! This will be the second year we’ve flown Beaconsgate’s arms at the hunt’s historic home. Site access begins early with the event proper beginning at 9:00 am. You can always find the most up-to-date info at: https://mistsprovince.westkingdom.org/beaconsgate-boar-hunt-2025/ \nBoar Hunt is a ‘fighting event.’ Mostly. With a feast in the afternoon/evening for everyone else. The heavies select one of their number to serve as a ‘boar.’ The boar is chased around Camp Herms while the ‘hunters’ try and dispatch it. Here is where things are different. Most fighting events require that you be authorized. With Boar Hunt\, there is space for the unauthorized. The unauthorized (such as children and an accompanying adult) can serve as ‘dogs.’ Dogs don’t fight or talk. They can help locate the boar for the hunters\, but they can only ‘point’ and ‘bark’—no fighting\, no talking. Is it silly? Maybe. Is it fun? Well\, the hunt has been going on for 20+ years\, so ‘yes?’ The rapier peeps have a ‘Stag Hunt’ at the same event. \nThe feast portion gives those in the populous who like to cook a chance to show off. The Feast ticket cost is TBD\, we will probably have between 60 and 70 tickets available for sale to the populous. \n \nSite Name:   Camp Herms \nSite Address:   1100 James Pl El Cerrito\, CA 94530 \nWritten Directions to Site:    From Highway I-80: \nTake McBryde ave exit and turn left \nTake a right on Arlington \nTake a left onto Thors Bay Rd \nRight at first cross street onto James Pl and enter Camp Hermes \n \nDonation only  Event?: yes \n \nTotal Available Feast Tickets:   70 \nFeast Tickets Cost: $25 \nPurchase ticket location:   https://sites.google.com/westkingdom.org/epay/2025-beaconsgate-boar-hunt \nDeadline For Feast Ticket Purchase: TBD \n \nSite Accessibility:   Cell Phone Reception \nTerrain Description:  \nBodies of Water on/near Site:  \nInsects or wild animals to be aware of on/ near site:  \nAmenities on Site:   Stone Privies\,  Modern Lighting: Such as Street/ Walkway lights\,  Other (Please specify in the “Additional Comments” section at the bottom of this form) \nAdditional Comments:   Feast will be held in the Scout Lodge.
