No dogs allowed. Leashed Service Animals Only. Grand Archery Tournament: This is a period or historic archery shoot\, consisting of 3 Royal Rounds. Please bring your recurve\, cross\, long or short bow. Compound bows will not be permitted. Arrows must be wooden shafts with feather fletching. Some loaner gear is available. The archery tournament is open to all and will consist of three Royal Rounds.  Pre-registration for the archery lists is available and helps speed things along:  \n \nArchery Pre-registration \n \n Members of the Barony of Darkwood may shoot for the coveted “Hood” to become a member of the Baronial Company of Archers.  Non-Darkwood archers may compete with permission from their Excellencies Francisco and Margaret.  \n \nThe Rapier Tournaments will follow the standard Falcon’s Treaty schedule. This year’s theme is period cosplay. Best attempt at a medieval costume for your favorite fairytale character. Whether you are enchanted by fantastic dragons or courageous knights\, please bring your favorite tale to share.  \n \nSet up: 9AM Rapier: Armor inspection will be at 9:30 AM and fighting will commence at 10 AM.  \n \nA&S Class: Period Potluck Contributions for Slackers taught by Her Highness Clare Elena Please bring your Arts and Sciences project or peruse the A&S chest to find a new project.  \n \nFeast: Feast is potluck. Event steward will bring the main dish. Please bring your favorite Medieval/Renaissance food to share\, along with the written ingredients. All contributions that are fairytale themed can be added to the Fantastic Fairytale Foods competition. Please be aware: No shellfish or orange on site due to severe allergies. Thank you!  \n \nArts and Sciences Competitions: Storytelling Competition: Bring your favorite fairytale\, myth\, or legend. Each entry will be scored on Presentation\, Quality\, and Creativity. Wreath of Athena: Fiber Arts. Documentation is encouraged but not required. Competition is open to everyone. Contact the event steward to arrange to transport your entry if you are unable to attend. Bardic will be held after the feast.  Fantastic Fairytale Foods: Serve it forth! Your best interpretation of a fairytale food. Please note whether it is edible or decorative. If edible\, please include an ingredients list and can be added to the feast.  \n \nThere will be a silent auction to offset the costs of events. Donations for the auction are greatly appreciated. We deeply appreciate everyone lending their time\, talent\, and financial support.  \n \nPlease contact event Steward with any questions. Lodging for off-island cousins: Limited lodging\, local transportation\, and hospitality will be joyfully provided to off island guests in the homes of our populace. Turn slightly left onto Lower Mill Bay Rd. at the Y intersection for 350 feet. Turn left onto Thorsheim St. for .3 miles. The upper parking lot is paved\, has handicap parking\, and a wheelchair ramp. The lower parking lot is gravel with a long flight of stairs. There are paved sidewalks at both parking lots. \nBodies of Water on/near Site:   There are no immediate bodies of water near the site. \nInsects or wild animals to be aware of on/ near site:   Kodiak Brown bears do frequently wander the area and occasionally the site. This is usually during the early morning or late evening hours but not always. Use precaution when leaving vehicles or buildings and make noise. Mosquitos\, bees\, hornets\, and wasps may be out. If driving on Kodiak roads\, deer and bears are always road hazards\, especially in low visibility. Drive with caution. Though not an animal- Kodiak Island weather and temperature are unpredictable and change quickly. Be prepared to dress for the weather.
