Further Event Information:
The Cook Inlet is in need of a Pirate Lord! The Barony of Selviergard will be hosting their Warlord Tournaments to find the Baronial Warlord and Baronial Defender and the event will have games and competitions to determine which Buccaneer Captain or Sea Dog will serve as the Baronesses of Selviergard’s Corsair Commodore of the Cook Inlet! The goal of the Commodore of the Cook Inlet will be to acquire the most treasure through games of chance and tournament. The competitions will include Armored Combat Tournament, Rapier Tournament, a Thrown Weapons Tournament and Pirate themed games of chance. The most profitable pirate from the Games and Tournaments will be named Dread Pirate Lord of Selviergard and Commodore of the Corsairs of the Cook Inlet!
The site tokens will be a small bag of coins with which to engage in gaining your wealth. Victories in the combat styles win coins from your opponents and the gaming tables will be set up under Pavilion B for those who wish to earn their gold through chance.
The fighting for Hard Suit and Rapier will be aboard ship in a Bear Pit Style with wounds carrying over. Each time a fighter enters the ship to fight, they pay one coin to board, the winner of the pass at arms keeping the coins. The victorious fighter stays aboard and pays another coin to fight the next opponent, retaining any wounds suffered. Falling overboard is fatal, and if both fighters do so, their coins remain on the ship for the next pair to fight over.
The Populace will be able to intervene on behalf of the fighters by paying for the ship’s surgeon to heal severed limbs and injured body parts. The Ship’s Surgeon being interested in being paid the most for such services will auction off the healing to the highest bidder. If the fighter they paid to heal wins the next pass at arms, the populace member who paid for the healing doubles the cost of the medical aid, if that fighter loses the cost is lost. Fighters are not allowed to pay for their own healing, but may pay for another fighter’s healing.
A Saving the Crew from the Terrifying Sea Monster with Thrown Weapons Tournament will be held. Harpoons will be purchased to cast at the Monster and successfully slaying it doubles your money; however, if you injure one of the crew you must pay double!
A Pirate themed Arts and Sciences Challenges will also be part of the fun. The Arts and Sciences will be Pirate Flags! One contest will be crafting the best Pirate Flag from materials provided on site the other will be for best prepared flag brought from home. Additionally you may bring any Pirate themed artistic project you wish to display at a Populace Choice competition, completed or in progress. There will be contests for the most impressive pirate costume with a gangplank walk during the feast.
The Feast will be a potluck Competition Feast with the Populace bringing their best Chili or Stew to share and the dishes judged by Populace Choice for best overall, the winning Chef winning a prize and bragging rights for the entire winter!
The site is dry. No camping allowed. We may raise tents for the day for shade and activities. The site is close to the privies but not right next to them. We will not have any fires. We are asking the Populace to bring propane stoves for heating up your chili and stews. Lake Lucille Park is an active bear area, so plan to be Bear Aware!
