Midsummer’s Feast - Barony of Fettburg (Manteca, CA) 
 
Come join us as we explore the secretive world of the “Crypto-Jews” of Spain.  The inspiration for the food is from a book called: A Drizzle Of Honey: The Lives And Recipes Of Spain's Secret Jews.  There will be a midday repast of Lamb and chickpea stew, along with snacks of cheese, nuts, olives, and fruit.  The main meal will consist of Lettuce and Radish salad, Cabbage Soup, Roasted Chicken with fruit, Vegetarian Rice Pilaf, and a wonderful dessert.  The meal has no beef or pork.
 
At this event, we will have 3 competitions.  One will be to find our next Rapier Champion.  Do you have what it takes?  The next is the Bardic competition.  For our Bardic competition, you will need a filk, a “bard’s best” piece, and an original written on site (theme to be announced that day).  We will also be holding an A&S competition.  You can enter one of two categories, bring trim or seam treatments, or bring an imaginative, but usable weapon.  Classes TBA on Facebook event page.

From the North: Take either I-5 or Hwy 99 South to the Lathrop Rd. exit. From I-5 turn Left and from 99 turn Right onto Lathrop Rd. Continue east till you reach Union Rd. Turn South onto Union , and continue to Center St. Turn left onto Center. Go two blocks & turn left onto Cherry Ln. Senior Center is on left behind the Police station.

From Modesto & all points South East: Take Hwy 99 North. Take the Hwy 120 West exit toward San Francisco. Take the Union Rd. exit and turn right onto Union Rd. Go north on Union to Center St., turn Right onto Center. Go two blocks & turn Left onto Cherry Ln. Senior Center is on left behind the Police station.

From the Bay Area & West San Joaquin Valley: Take your best route to I-5/ 205 E, to Manteca. Take Hwy 120 East Exit. Continue to Union Rd. Turn left, going over the overpass. Continue on Union Rd. to Center St. Go two blocks & turn Left onto Cherry Ln. Senior Center is on left behind the Police station.
