February 2, 2013
War College - Kingdom of the West (Gustine, CA)
We have a new site for 2013 with lots of close parking, good terrain, covered picnic areas (bridges) and stone privies. War College Chancellor, Duke Hauoc will be leading the heavy portions of the day while Don Nytshaed will be guiding the rapier activities.
With the new site we will have a couple of changes to the way things have been done in the past.
- All attendees must pay for parking as they enter the park. The cost is $10/car payable to the ranger if the booth is staffed or the self-pay station if it is not. State Park passes are accepted. The event itself will be free - please stop by gate to sign the waiver.
- There will be a hot dog fundraiser to benefit the Equestrian Clinician's Travel Fund. Drop your donation off before you armor up or make a donation at the end of the day. Either way, the organizers will have hot dogs available on the field at lunch time for those that would like to participate.
On-leash dogs permitted except on the sandy portion of the beach. Fires permitted in park provided fire pits and grills. Combat Archery is permitted. The site does not have a street address. Please pay attention to the directions and look for the brown State Park signs if you have never been there.
