As crisp autumn settles upon our fair lands, we gather around warm fires and feast tables to celebrate the stepping up of our new Prince and Princess at Mists Fall Investiture.
A sumptuous Tudor holiday banquet will be served in Their Highnesses honor in the evening, created by Morgana di Marco Vecchietti. In addition to court festivities, the day will be filled with period arts! The A&S competitions are Fine Arts: Heraldic Display (shield, banner, clothing, etc.) and Practical Science: Medicinal Cordial/Tincture (a drink used for health reasons in period or a detailed research paper if authentic ingredients are unsafe). Entries are due at 1:00pm. Contact the A&S minister (arts@mists.westkingdom.org) with questions.
The Silver Spoon competition is period featuring poultry other than chicken, so duck, goose, quail, partridge, squab, starling -- if it has feathers, was eaten in period, and isn't a chicken then it is OK. The participants will judge the entries so that all the cooks can taste the yummy food and learn from each other about what they did and why.
