12th Night Coronation

Count Down to 12th Night!

 

The Province of Silver Desert invites you to West Kingdom 12th Night! An amazing event is being planned in a city that knows how to entertain and we would like to invite all of our neighbors to come and celebrate with us as this is the 50th 12th Night event in the West! (Only for 12th Night. Coronation was added in AS 2.)

 

When: January 6th - 8th, 2017

Where: Nugget Casino Resort, Sparks, NV

 

So excited that 12th Night is less than a month away! That means it is time to finalize plans!

 

The hotel will not be adding to our block, but you can still get rooms at reasonable rates. Please call them directly at 1-800-843-2427. Let them know you are with the SCA, so we get credit. This is also true of those who book through a travel website or AAA!

 

 

Don’t forget the bathing suits. The Nugget has a beautiful large pool and hot tub on the 3rd floor! They also have a gym.

 

Fighters, if you can bring your armor, there is a plan in works to have a fighter practice inside the hotel!

 

Artisans, there will be tables for displaying your work.

 

We have the Golden Stag Players in their own theatre!

 

There is a culinary competition! Period Subtleties – Use your imagination with the creation of fancy food too pretty to eat… generally because it doesn’t taste that good.

 

And there will be an amazing final Court, as we bid farewell to our wonderful King and Queen, before the Coronation of the Royal Heirs!!!! What will happen in Court? What kind of Coronation will we have? I have seen some pretty spectacular ones, believe you me! And the hotel has high ceilings, so much could happen to ring in our amazing heirs!

 

Pro-tips: This is a resort hotel, NOT Business class.

* Use Bellhops for transporting your gear to your room. They will hold your stuff until you are checking in/ out. At the end of the event, you won’t have to worry about rushing to pack your car, as they can hold things (when you check out) until you are ready to leave. Besides which, carts will not be available for the taking. Appropriate gratuity is $3-5 for each handler – if you have a lot of luggage make it $1-2 per bag/ item.

* Also, free valet parking is available – they work for gratuities, same as Bellhops.

Make your life easier, use the hotel amenities.

 

Other basics:
* Restaurants (yes, plural) – there is a buffet, a coffee shop, fine dining, Gilley's and the Oyster Bar (really good soup). Plus there are several restaurants and fast food places within walking distance or a short (within a mile) of the site.
* There is no smoking or vaping on the convention floor or in the restaurants and public areas. If you have issues with cigarette smoke, you should be fine if you stay out of the casino.
