CROSSTON’S “LOVE AND ADVENTURE” BALL

Dear Gentlefolk, Kick up your heels to lovely Renaissance music as our Crosston Ball returns to a favorite site in Los Gatos. Do you love period dance and are eager for a chance to dance the night away? Are you new to dance and want to give it a try? Do you have 12th Night finery that didn’t quite get finished in time for 12th Night? Do join us for an afternoon of dance instruction and historical snacks. Classes by our fabulous dance instructors will be followed by a potluck picnic supper at 5pm. At 6 in the evening, you may dance to the sweet tunes of our wonderful musicians. Our schedule:

• 2pm: Burgundian 15th c dance class with Aasa Thorvaldsdottir
• 3pm: English Country 16th c dance class with Cynthia Fayrfax
• 4p:  Italian 16th c dance class with Rebecca da Firenze 
• 5p: BYOP - Potluck picnic in the Hall 
• 6pm: Dancing begins!

We will pause for an informal potluck dinner at 5pm. (Bring something & share with your friends). The ball itself is from 6-10 PM. The ball features Renaissance social dancing. A preliminary list of dances and classes can be found on our Facebook event page. If you are interested in playing with the band, please contact the Event Steward (above). There will be no site fee; donations are, as always, greatly appreciated but not required.  Come anyway!  We want to dance with you. If you play an instrument, please feel free to bring it – the band would love to have you join in. Volunteers gratefully accepted!

A reasonable attempt at Medieval or Renaissance costuming is strongly requested, some loaner clothing (Gold Key) will be avaliable. Please wear shoes with non-marking soles. Guide dogs & licensed service animals are welcome, but not pets. ADA Accessible. Wine and champagne are permitted even with discretion. Beer & hard liquors are not allowed.
