Bottle Cutting Competition! Please bring any empty 2 liter bottles you may have.
West Kingdom Royal Hunt! Come test your might and wit in the quests put forth by the Crown.
Cooking Competition: A dish in period that uses a New World ingredient. Or take a New World ingredient and incorporate it into a period recipe. Documentation and discussion for both. Also period food is yummy!
A&S Competitions: The “New World” was discovered twice by Europe, the first by the Norse, the second by the Spanish. The competition is to create and document something that would have been at one of these first settlements or on one of the ships that brought them to this New World. You may choose to compete in the Viking Age or the Early Age of Discovery, or both!
In 1521, Hernan Cortez sieged the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán using a trebuchet, one of the last known instances of a trebuchet being used in military combat. We will be having a siege competition! Here are the rules:
1) Only period materials can be used for construction. No PVC, or plastics. Plywood is acceptable.
2) The base or footprint of the device must fit within a 18” by 18” square.
3) The device must be a trebuchet like throwing device (no balistas).
4) The ammunition that we will be using for the competition will be pumpkin-shaped candy corn (because you can’t eat the things).
