WARGY

Saturday February 12th, 2022
Napa, California

Are your bones feeling creaky? Is your armor covered in dust? Do you miss war fighting? Problem solved: join us for WARGY! A fun day of fighting will ensue. As always, the fighting field shaped like the map of the Bay Area lends a perfect backdrop to the day. Each group will be assigned a piece of land and a treasure chest to defend.

For this year’s event you can bring a team, or just come on your own. No need to sign up in advance — teams will be adjusted as needed at the event. And as usual, mercenaries can be hired on site, the day of, like at previous Wargys. For this year — and hopefully this year only — none of the usual requirements will be in place, that means in addition to not needing to sign your teams up in advance, there is no captain, war chest, or service hour requirement.... this time :)

Gate will be open from 9am-11am. Please enter the park through the West Gate (where Crown and Coronet tournaments are usually held) — it is a sliding chain link fence gate. Look for the SCA signs! Be aware that since we are using this gate there will be a Hastings lock in place for all but the 2 hours the gate will be officially open. Please message if you need the combination. If you are entering/exiting the park and the gate is closed, please make sure to close it behind you. There is a vagrancy issue and the park has asked us not to let extra people onto the property.

Fighting begins around 11am

Due to COVID conditions, no support services (water bottles, snacks) will be provided. There is potable water on site. Please bring your own bottles/mugs.

Mask Usage:
Masks are required for all SCA official gatherings in the West indoors or outdoors.

Exceptions:
1. While eating or drinking masks may be pulled down briefly to sip or take a bite in public areas. While camping, meals may be consumed unmasked in private encampments.
2. Vaccinated fighters may forgo masks outdoors while fighting. Once the fight is over, helms should be removed and fighters must re-mask. If you wish to wear a mask while fighting or at any other time in the kingdom, that is always ok.

Society, Kingdom, State, and Local mask mandates and COVID protocols are always subject to change. Please check the Facebook event for the most up-to-date safety measures, and contact the Event Steward if you have any questions.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to try to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.
