It’s a new year! Are your bones feeling creaky? Is your armor covered in dust? Do you miss war fighting? Problem solved: join us for WARGY! A fun day of fighting will ensue.
As always, the fighting field will be shaped like the map of the Bay Area (ish).
Each group will be assigned a piece of land and a treasure chest to defend.
This is an “all day” resurrection battle, in the style of “capture the flag”. No breaks, lunch or otherwise, are built in. Everyone can take a breather whenever they would like then rejoin when refreshed. Archery allowed all day!
This year you can bring a team, or just come on your own. No need to sign up in advance — teams will be adjusted as needed at the event. And as usual, mercenaries can be hired on site, the day of, like at previous Wargys.
For this year — because we are not requiring groups to pre register— none of the usual requirements will be in place, that means in addition to not needing to sign your teams up in advance, there is no captain, war chest, banner or service hour REQUIREMENTS....however, we will still need your junk… er I mean treasure to make “Treasure Chests” a thing, banners always make everything more lovely and we could always use help with marshaling, watching gate etc. Thank you in advance.
Armor inspection/Listen up 10:30, Fighting to begin around 11am
Please check Kingdom Calendar and FB even for updated information including rapier activities and classes being offered..
Gate will be open from 9am to 12pm only
Please enter the park through the West Gate (where Crown and Coronet tournaments are usually held) — it is a sliding chain link fence gate. Look for the SCA signs! If you are entering/exiting the park and the gate is closed, please use the main entrance , FOLLOW THE SPEED LIMIT AND BE NICE! . There is a vagrancy issue and the park has asked us not to let extra people onto the property.
