Mists Fall Coronet

Updated Fire Information: Propane fires/torches and covered flames are allowable and WK Fire rules are to be maintained at all times. Open flame pits or fires that could spark are NOT ALLOWED PERIOD due to fire danger.
 
Prince Alfar and Princess Eilis welcome all in a grand tournament to decide Their successors. Fighters of all stations are encouraged to do honour unto their consorts and unto their Principality. Journey to Skyline Park in lovely Vinhold for the grand tournament.
 
Her Highness, through grace and wisdom, has devised a special coronet this time around. Rather than a Princess's Tea, She is hosting a Princess's Pie. She bids all to invoke their culinary skill and create pies. There will be prizes for the best pies selected by qualified judges, for any pie the Princess is fond of, and for any pie the Prince is fond of. Please flag any pie that uses any form of onion, including garlic, since His Highness is seriously allergic. You may include documentation -- if enough people do, we may have special categories for best period pie -- but you are not required to do so. After the judging, the pies will be made available to the populace.
 
In addition, on Saturday evening there will be a bardic challenge. We challenge all bards, troubadors, poets, storytellers to bring their best piece to perform for the populace. We challenge the populace to bring small gifts with which they may reward to their favorite performers. We will also have presents for those performers We find especially pleasing. We prefer, but do not require, original pieces, and We ask that all performers be aware of the length of their pieces. This will be a wonderful chance to warm up for the Mists Bardic competition later in the reign.
 
The Arts & Sciences competitions: Practical science - hairstyles, hair care; Technical science - wood carving. In addition, there will be activities in the pavilion.  
 
The Silver Spoon competition: Rice - blancmange, rice fritters, rice tarts, pilaf, etc. based on period recipes. Silver Spoon Competitions are open to all, even if you don’t live in the Principality of the Mists. These competitions are judged by the participants, so come prepared to eat and chat about food.  
 
The Saltatoris Nebularum will be held; the Black Nag will be the dance we enjoy!

More timely information concerning fires will be released closer to the day of the event. Fire regulations will be posted at the gate - please check there as you arrive.

Directions: 

From 80 East: Take the 37 W exit towards Napa. Get off at the CA-29/ Sonoma Blvd exit going towards Napa. Turn right at the bottom of the off ramp. Continue for 7 miles until you get to a split. Take the Lake Berryessa/ Downtown Napa exit to the right and continue for 2.5 miles til you get to Imola Ave. Turn right on Imola Ave. and the park entrance is approx. 1 mile on the right.

From 80 West: Take exit 39B to merge onto CA-12 W/ Jameson Canyon Rd toward Napa/Sonoma. Go about 6 miles and turn right on to CA-12/ Napa/Sonoma. Continue until you get to a split. Take the Lake Berryessa/ Downtown Napa exit to the right and continue for 2.5 miles til you get to Imola Ave. Turn right on Imola Ave. and the park entrance is approx. 1 mile on the right.

From US-101: Take CA-37 East toward Napa / Vallejo. Turn left on CA-29 North/ Sonoma Blvd. Veer slight right on CA-221 North toward Downtown Napa/ Lake Berryessa. Turn Right at Imola Ave. and entrance to park is approx. 1 mile on the Right.

From CA-12/121 (Carneros Hwy): Turn left on CA-29 North. Exit Imola Ave and turn right at the light. Stay straight on Imola for 2.4 miles (approx 6 minutes and 5 lights). Entrance to park will be on the Right.
