Restless on the fjord? The Barony of Vinhold’s All Hallows 2014 feast is calling all Vikings and fellow travelers to join a cruise down the river roads of the East to reach the grand bazaars of Constantinople. Feast guests will brave challenges presented by allies, enemies, and occasional barbarian tribes while partaking of the culinary delights of lands along the route. Prize competitions will be held to test cordial makers’ ability to create potent potables (label if alcoholic) capable of combatting fearsome northern winters, and to praise cooks’ ingenuity and artistry in crafting edible subtleties illustrating cultural or martial adventures encountered along the way. The skills of bards and skalds to inspire tired travelers will be displayed in a competition to select the Bard of Vinhold for 2014-15. Lost your trade goods in the Dnieper rapids? The baronial tag sale and silent auction will help you replenish your stock before you arrive for dessert in Constantinople.
